Current Forum (2022-Present)
Here, you will find the current forum where we can reminisce and reconnect. Since many years have passed it
was cleaner to start a new forum from scratch. If you are a former ]ES[ member and you register for this new
forum, send a PM to the site admin so that you can be added to the members group.
First Forum (December 2002 - April 2004)
In 2002, with the second major overhaul of the Evil Smurfs web site,
the bulletin board software phpBB was added to support the growing online community.
Prior to this, IRC, email, and telephone were primarily used to keep in touch with each other.
This forum, along with the website, was infiltrated and defaced by a hacker in April 2004.
The hacker deleted posts, posted a bunch of garbage
topics, and altered user accounts. Immediately upon finding out, we suspended everyone's account
and attempted to get them to re-authenticate and change their passwords. This archive
represents the last clean backup that was taken before the forums were corrupted.
Second Forum (April 2004 - September 2004)
GaD restarted the forum from scratch when he started hosting the website in 2004. After the initial hack,
we experienced additional attacks that corrupted the user database. Gad decided that it would
be faster and cleaner to start over rather than try to fix the damage done by the hackers.
This forum is a result of a backup that was found of the database that includes data from the relaunch in April 2004 through September 2004.
After GaD's passing in 2008, the web site and forums got bounced around to a few different hosts before going dark
around 2016. We think at some point the forums may have moved from phpBB to vBulletin.
If we can obtain the missing data from 2004 to 2021 we will post it here.
From 2021 to 2023 the EvilSmurfs.com domain name was owned by a non-affiliated entity so no offical forum existed
during that time period.
